Bonny Cai [蔡颖] is a designer and researcher exploring ways in which clothing promotes play, fosters empathy, and creates a sense of home.
She has a BA in Economics from Brown University and a BFA in Apparel from the Rhode Island School of Design. She also received a 2019-2020 Fulbright Fellowship to research hanbok [한복] in Seoul, South Korea.
Her work combines studying traditional garment engineering, experimenting with innovative materials, as well as collecting precious narratives. She is passionate about sharing histories and culture through a contemporary design spirit that pays homage to our earth and can reach people's hearts.
She rises with the sun, listens to podcasts, hikes through forests, enjoys sweet watermelon, and excels at climbing trees. She breathes blossoms and blue skies and loves her friends indefinitely.
